What if parents disagree on custody or domicile during cohabitation?

The case cannot be concluded at this time. The matter is referred to a mediation procedure, where an opportunity is given to speak about the dispute at a meeting conducted by a mediator.

If no settlement can be reached in the mediation process, the district commissioner will not confirm the end of cohabitation until legal action has been taken on the dispute.

For further information on mediation in child conflict resolution, please contact the National Commission for the Settlement of Children.
