Is it necessary for parents to agree on custody in order for a divorce license to be issued?

Yes, in order for the district commissioner to issue a divorce license or a confirmation of the dissolution of cohabitation, parents must, among other things, decide on the custody of their children.

If parents are in an agreement on the custody of their children and other things that need to be agreed upon, the district commissioner shall issue a license for divorce or confirm the dissolution of the parents cohabitation.
