Can parents agree to forgo child maintenance payments?
Parents who do not live together can agree on how to divide the cost of child support. It is not necessary to negotiate that child maintenance is paid in this regard as it is sufficient that an agreement is made between the parents regarding child support.
If parents have an agreement regarding child maintenance payments, the amount of child maintenance may not be lower than the basic child maintenance.
A child has the right for support from both parents. When a child is lives with one of its parents, that parent may request child maintenance payments from the other parent.
