What documents do you need to bring to your divorce interview?

An appointment can be made with the district commissioner in the district where the spouses reside. The interview may take place without any documents being submitted. However, it is a good idea to bring a completed divorce request to the interview.

In the interview, the district commissioner or his deputy will book the proceedings in the record book of divorce, e.g., the demand for divorce and the spouses position on custody, domicile and child maintenance. Documents may be submitted at a later stage of the divorce proceedings but if the parties have reached an agreement regarding assets and liabilities, it is a good idea to bring the agreement to the interview.
