How do I apply for a residence permit for a child born in Iceland?

The conditions for a residence permit for a child are the same whether the application is made for a child born in Iceland or abroad.

You can only be issued a residence permit for a child if you are its biological or adoptive parent and have custody of the child. It is not sufficient to only have custody.

You apply by submitting an application for a residence permit for a child along with all necessary supporting documents such as a birth certificate and custody documents.
