Do I need to renew a permanent residence permit?
No, a permanent residence permit is permanent and does not need to be renewed.
However, the residence permit card is only valid for five years. Before the card expires you need to make a photo appointment at the Directorate of Immigration and pay 8.000 ISK for the renewal of the residence permit card.
