The period of validity of a residence permit for students depends on their enrollment and their ability to financially support themselves.

You cannot obtain a residence permit that is valid for longer than the study period you have been accepted for. And you must be able to demonstrate that you have secure means of financial support for as long as the residence permit is valid.

A student who is enrolled in a two-semester programme but can only demonstrate secure support for one semester may only be issued a residence permit for one semester.

Note that your passport must be valid for three months beyond the residence permit period.
