Housing & Construction Authority: Housing benefits and rental matters
How is information from the lease used?
The HMS Rent Register maintains electronic registration of leases and is part of the HMS (The Housing and Construction Authority) Housing database.
The database provides better information on the rental market, such as rental price developments and the length of leases, which is useful in government housing policy-making.
No personal data is available from the HMS Housing database.
Among the information that HMS will make public is:
Average rent amounts paid
Average price per square metre of rented housing
Average square metre of rented housing (often different from information in the property register as the housing in question may be a part of a property),
Number of active leases (and history maintained)
Rent price index (based on rent price and location as well as property register variables).
