What debts is it okay to have when applying for citizenship?

When applying for citizenship, the following matters are looked into concerning your dept balance:

  • Tax debt.

    • If you have not paid your taxes, your application will be rejected.

  • Unsuccessful levy of execution (seizure).

    • If an unsuccessful levy of execution has been made in your property in the past three years, your application will be rejected.

  • Bankruptcy

    • If you have become bankrupt, you application will be rejected.

Other debts are not examined in connection with applications for citizenship.
