In order to retain Icelandic citizenship, you need:

• to be under the age of 22 years; and

• have resided or stayed in Iceland or had relations with the country which are considered sufficient to hold Icelandic citizenship.

If you have lived in Norway, Denmark, Finland or Sweden for at least 7 years, this residence shall be equally valid as domicile in Iceland.
