How long do I have to live in Iceland to apply for Icelandic citizenship?
You can apply for Icelandic citizenship when you have had legal domicile and continuous residence in Iceland for seven years.
Spouses and children of Icelandic citizens, former Icelandic citizens, Nordic citizens, refugees, humanitarian permit holders and stateless persons can in some cases apply for Icelandic citizenship after less than seven years of residence.
