It is generally prohibited, according to the rules of the Icelandic Transport Authority, to disseminate information on the property status of individual parties in the vehicle register. However, access to lookups by owners' identification number in the vehicle register may be granted if there is legal authorisation at hand. Access to the vehicle register can be purchased.
