Static caravans are trailers that have been parked on a campsite, usually permanently. As with all caravans, they are subject to registration and must be registered in traffic while being towed from one place to another. Caravans can be withdrawn from circulation by submitting number plates to the Icelandic Transport Authority or inspection stations.
