You can get in touch with a nurse by phone, who will direct your request to the right place or guide you to other resources.

Experienced nurses provide advice and information about health matters and HSS's operations. You can book a phone appointment by calling 422 0500 on weekdays from 8am to 12pm. The receptionist will take down your name, ID number, and phone number, and you will be contacted as soon as possible.

Nurses are available for in-person appointments on weekdays from 8am to 4pm. Appointments for nurse consultations can be booked on Heilsuvera.is or by calling 422 0500 on weekdays from 8am to 4pm.

Nurses handle requests that fall under:

• Wound care, skin treatment, wart treatment, and suture removal

• Injections, medication administration

• Travel health and travel-related vaccinations

• Other vaccinations, for example, for influenza, pneumonia, and chickenpox

• Specific tests and measurements, such as blood pressure, ECGs, and spirometry

• Ear irrigation

• Specific sample collections, such as throat swabs, urine tests, and STI screenings

• Advice, information, and education

• Active listening and mental support

• Guidance on the healthcare system

Healthcare assistants perform hearing tests, ECGs, respiratory tests, and memory tests on selected days.
