Directorate of Immigration: International protection
Will my passport be taken if I apply for international protection?
Yes, all applicants for international protection are required to hand in a passport or other travel document that they have in their possession at the time they apply for international protection is made. The same applies to the applicant's spouse or cohabiting partner and children, regardless of whether they arrived with the applicant or are going to apply for international protection later.
