What are the benefits of receiving assistance with voluntary repatriation?
Voluntary return assistance ensures that you travel safely back to your home country, or a country where you are authorised to stay, without police involvement.
The assistance available varies according to the needs of the applicant. The assistance may include:
Pre-departure counselling.
Support with travel document acquisition.
Help with registering children born in Iceland.
Travel arrangements to the final destination in the country of origin.
Assistance during transit and arrival.
Escort services (medical or operational) when needed.
Special arrangements for vulnerable individuals.
In-cash assistance and reintegration support in accordance with the regulation on reintegration support and in-cash assistance for applicants for international protection
