Cost of treatment
Dentists are parties to contracts with Iceland Health and know the rules on reimbursement. They evaluate what treatment an individual needs and can check the payment participation of Iceland Health by sending an electronic inquiry before treatment begins.
The dentist is obliged to inform the individual about the cost of treatment, before starting treatment.
Refund from Iceland Health
There is no direct reimbursement to an individual. Iceland Health pays its share of the cost directly to the dentist, who charges an individual for their share. The dentist sends an electronic invoice to Iceland Health immediately after treatment.
