The antenatal care is available to all expectant parents and free of charge. The midwife, nurses, and general practitioners work in the hands of antenatal care and obstetricians are consulted if necessary. Phone consultations can also be obtained from the midwife at each centre.

• to provide professional care, support, education, and counselling

• identify risk factors and deviations from normal pregnancy as soon as possible and take appropriate measures

Parenting

A course for expectant parents to discuss fertilisation, embryonic development, pregnancy complications, relaxation and breathing, birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding.

These courses are held in Akranes and are open to all expectant parents in the healthcare district of HVE.
