Image analysis

The imaging department of HVE Akranes is responsible for X-ray tomography and ultrasound examinations. All research is in computerized form and is stored in a common database at Landspítali University Hospital. The reading of research is generally done on the same day that HVE doctors have electronic access to the results.

At several facilities, imaging services at HVE are carried out, limited to acute imaging of the lungs and limbs. The interpretation of these studies is in the same way as that of the diagnostic imaging department in Akranes.
