Ward Rounds
Ward rounds occur when the treatment team meets to discuss the treatment plan, any changes in your condition over the last 24 hours, and to determine the next steps, such as tests, procedures, medications, or discharge. The process may vary between departments.
After the meeting, the team will come to you, review the matters, and give you the opportunity to ask questions or discuss what is important to you.
If you are in a room with others and wish to discuss matters privately, you can request a private conversation.
Family members may also ask questions during the ward rounds or request a family meeting with the healthcare providers.
Patients admitted to the hospital are guaranteed certain rights and access to information.
