The General and Education Committee of the Althingi requested the opinion of the Akureyri Hospital regarding a proposal for a parliamentary resolution regarding the permanent establishment of the Coast Guard's helicopter in Akureyri.

Cyclist of the Year at Akureyri's Cycling Association, is the team manager of the SAk's technical department

At the Akureyri Hospital the staff is excellent. Therefore, it should not be surprising that many of them also excel in other areas. This is exactly the situation with Stefán Helgi Garðarsson, team manager of the technical department. He recently received the HFA's Cyclist of the Year award.

World Occupational Therapy Day is today

There are about 14 occupational therapists working at Akureyri hospital - and one quadriplegic. They take care of clients in rehabilitation at Kristnes, in SAk's emergency wards and in the psychiatric ward.

SAk shows support equality and reduces services on October 24

Akureyri hospital will show support in the participation in the women's strike on October 24th. to the extent that the health and safety of patients will be guaranteed. The majority of the staff at the Akureyri hospital in are women and we want to protect and promote equality.

SAk's participation at Hjúkrun 2023

Hjúkrun 2023 - The Nursing conference - took place at the end of September at the Hilton Reykjavík Nordica. The conference was organized by the Association of Icelandic Nurses in collaboration with the University of Iceland, the University of Akureyri, Landspítali and the health care centers of the capital region.

High level of satisfaction with SAk's services according to the service survey

Every year a service survey among state institutions is conducted. This year Maskína oversaw the survey which was sent out in March, April and May. The number of participants was 4,904 people from all over the country, aged 18 and over. A total of 134 organizations were asked.
