Health insurance upon moving from Iceland
When legal domicile is transferred from Iceland, health insurance in Iceland automatically expires immediately, except for students.

If the stay abroad is for 6 months or more, the legal domicile transfer must be reported to Registers Iceland. If this is not done, contact the International Health Insurance (international@sjukra.is) to check the rights and to ensure that the health insurance rights remain in place.
