An integrated expert assessment is a prerequisite for receiving disability pension or partial disability pension.

After September 1, 2025, applicants for disability pension will need to undergo an integrated expert assessment, which is a standardized evaluation of an individual's ability to function in the labor market, where skills, disability, and health are comprehensively assessed in a broad sense. The assessment is based on the ICF, the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health by the World Health Organization.

To undergo an integrated expert assessment, rehabilitation must have been fully attempted or not possible.
