Social Insurance Administration: Disability pension
How do allowances from a pension fund affect disability pension allowances?
Allowances from pension funds that exceed the exemption limit will reduce the calculation of the disability pension. Income exceeding the exemption limit is reduced by 45%.
Example: if income from a pension fund exceeds the limit by ISK 100,000 and the reduction is 45%, then the reduction amount is ISK 45,000.
However, additional pension savings do not affect the disability pension allowance.
