Social Insurance Administration: Professionals - on changes to disability and rehabilitation payments (1)
Is a partial disability pension only paid to those who are looking for a job and receive an activity grant from the Directorate of Labour?
No. The result of an integrated expert assessment determines whether a disability pension or a partial disability pension is approved.
A partial disability pension is for individuals who are assessed as having 26-50% capacity for activity in the labour market according to an integrated expert assessment due to a long-term or serious health impairment or disability. They do not necessarily have to be working or seeking employment.
Those who are entitled to a partial disability pension can receive an activity grant from the Directorate of Labour for up to 24 months while actively seeking employment with the assistance of the Directorate of Labour. The combined amount of the partial disability pension and the activity grant is equal to the amount of a full disability pension. Applications for an activity grant are submitted to the Directorate of Labour. It is not income-related.
