Students - Registration of Interest

Students enrolled in any field of health sciences who are interested in employment at the Health Care Institution of South Iceland (HSU) are welcome to submit a general job application. General applications are not answered individually. Applications disappear from the system 6 months after the last update, so those who wish to keep their application active are advised to update it regularly (it is not possible to reapply in the same category).

Please note the following:According to Icelandic law, public institutions are required to advertise vacant positions. Exceptions to this rule are limited to temporary appointments of less than two months, replacements lasting less than 12 months, and appointments to positions that have been advertised publicly within the past six months.

About HSU

The service area of HSU extends from Þorlákshöfn in the west to Höfn in the east.HSU provides primary health care, hospital, and elderly care services, as well as ambulance services, throughout the region.

The role of HSU is to plan, develop, and deliver health services within its district, ensuring that residents of South Iceland and other service users have equal access to the best possible health care at all times.

• Tasks and responsibilities vary depending on the students field of study and type of position.

• Interest in working with people and demonstrating professional care in practice

• Positive attitude, sense of responsibility, and willingness to take on assigned tasks

• Motivation to gain experience and contribute to a supportive and professional work environment

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
