Landspitali is undertaking one of the largest transformations of urgent and emergency care in its history. We are seeking Consultant Physicians in Internal Medicine and/or Acute Internal Medicine to join our multidisciplinary team as we design, develop and deliver the next generation of emergency services in Iceland working in a leading university hospital committed to innovation, education, and research.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical work across inpatient wards, the Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU), and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) services
Participation in the General Internal Medicine inpatient admitting team
Participation in the General Internal Medicine on-call rota
Teaching and supervision of medical students and resident doctors in training
Opportunities to participate in research activities
Participation in quality improvement and patient safety initiative
Contributing to the ongoing development of Acute Medicine and General Internal Medicine services

QUALIFICATIONS
Specialist registration (or equivalent) in General Internal Medicine, Acute Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine/General Practice with an emphasis on Acute Care
Broad clinical experience in Acute and/or General Internal Medicine
Excellent communication and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
A commitment to quality improvement, innovation and the development of high-value healthcare services.

FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSITION AND APPLICATION:
Salary according to the current collective agreement concluded by the Minister of Finance and the Economy and the Medical Association of Iceland. It also depends on factors such as additional education, professional experience, and years of service. Physicians who are fully dedicated to the position in Landspítali may also receive an additional 15% salary premium in accordance with the collective agreement.
