A new curriculum for the periodic training for professional drivers has been approved and will be published today.
Key changes:
· One of the five courses that drivers take is now mandatory to include a practical part, such as first-aid.
· There is no longer a core, a core and a selection.
· Courses are now divided into three parts;

Every driver must now:
· Take at least one course from each section; the other two are optional from any section.
· Make sure that one of these courses includes a practical aspect (e.g. first aid).
Drivers who have completed five courses under the older arrangements have until 1 June 2025 to renew their driving licence with 95 at the District Commissioner.
Note that those who have already completed first aid meet the conditions set for the practical part.
