Professional drivers

Professional drivers are those who have a job driving, for example taxi and bus drivers, and the person in question needs to have more tests. Different types of longer examinations can be taken depending on the rights sought. The programme consists of the following.

Basic courses that everyone needs to take, regardless of their rights.
An advanced course that varies according to the rights sought.
Practical training, which may begin when all courses are completed

February 18th 2025

A new curriculum for the retraining of professional drivers has been approved and will be published on February 18th.

Key changes: ·

It is now mandatory that one of the five courses that drivers take contain a practical part, for example, practical first aid.
There is no longer a core, a valence core and a selection.
Courses are now divided into three parts:
- Environment
- Laws and regulations
- Safety

Each driver must now:

Take at least one course from each section, the other two are optional from any section.
Make sure that one of these courses includes a practical aspect (e.g. first aid).

Drivers who have completed five courses under the older arrangements have until 1 June 2025 to renew their driving licence with 95 at the District Commissioner. Note that those who have already completed first aid meet the conditions set for the practical part.

Drivers can check their course status on the website. Note that if enrollment fails, there is a chance that no courses are valid.
