Before goods arrive in Iceland, duties must be paid, a customs declaration must be submitted, and an import permit may be obtained.

When goods arrive in Iceland, they are stored by the carrier until customs clearance has been completed and delivery authorization is available.

If import duties have been incorrectly estimated, both parties can request a correction.
