Payment of import charges for imported goods

Import charges are determined by the tariff classification of the goods, their origin and their customs value. In the Customs Portal, you can view detailed information on how the charges were calculated for each shipment.

If you believe an error has been made, you may request a correction of the import charges.

  • Importer

  • Postal operator

  • Recipient

Payments

Ways to pay:

  1. Directly to the customs broker – the invoice is issued by the customs broker

  2. Directly to Iceland Revenue and Customs by bank transfer or over-the-counter payment:

    • National ID number: 540269-6029

    • Bank account: 0101-24-85002

    • Please send payment details to 85002@skatturinn.is

  3. Customs credit – deferred payment of import charges
