Antibiotic Resistance

Antibiotic resistance in bacteria changes over time and varies between countries and regions. Often, there is a need to administer antibiotics before culture results are available, and sometimes samples cannot be obtained for culture. Therefore, it is crucial to have a good understanding of the antibiotic resistance of the most important bacteria. Research on Antibiotic susceptibility 2018 - 2023 is available in Icelandic language

Sensitivity Testing

Sensitivity tests have been conducted at the Microbiology Department of Landspítali for decades. With the computerized recording of the past years, it has become possible to publish these results almost immediately.
