Did you know that around 25% of reported occupational accidents in Iceland are caused by slips, trips and falls on the same level, making them one of the most common types of occupational accidents reported to the Administration of Occupational Safety and Health? Unfortunately, a number of fatal accidents have also occurred over the years due to falls from height.

Warning against the import of work machines and equipment that are not CE marked or are incorrectly CE marked

The Administration of Occupational Safety and Health has become aware of an increasing import of work machines and equipment from countries outside the European Economic Area that are either not CE marked or incorrectly CE marked. It is emphasised that work machines and equipment must bear a valid CE marking in order to be placed on the market and used in Iceland.

The AOSH regularly holds various courses related to occupational safety and health, heavy machinery, chemicals and chemical risks. Most courses are digital.

Work machines and appli­ances

Work machines and appliances

The AOSH is responsible for the registration and inspection of Heavy machinery and equpment and the issuance and renewal of machinery rights. The Administration also holds courses on machinery rights.
