About the plan

A workplace Health and Safety Plan is the basis for good occupational health and safety to promote the improved wellbeing, health and safety of all who work there. It is recommended that a workplace Health and Safety Plan is a joint project of the employer, management and employees.

The plan’s purpose

The plan’s purpose is to give a good overview of the risks that exist in the workplace and how they have been dealt with through prevention. It should also include a plan for further actions which must be taken within the workplace, so it is possible to prevent the risks or to reduce them as much as possible.

Risk assessment

A risk assessment must be done for the workplace. It includes a systematic analysis of all aspects of the work environment with regard to the safety, well-being and health of employees.

Health Protection and Prevention Plan

A plan for health protection and prevention must be made to minimize the risk to staff. The plan is based on the results of the risk assessment and provides an overview of the actions that need to be implemented to ensure the safety, health and well-being of employees.
