Let's work together: Everyone home safe

The AOSH is behind the campaign #Let’s work together: Everyone Home Safe. The goal is to raise awareness that employers are legally required to ensure a written health and safety plan is in place at the workplace—regardless of the size of the company.
This plan, which includes a risk assessment and a health protection and risk prevention plan, forms the foundation of effective workplace safety efforts and a healthy workplace culture.
A well-prepared plan that is actively used in the daily operations of the workplace is key to ensuring the safety and well-being of employees.
On this page, you can find educational materials and tools to support the development of a health and safety plan.
There’s a lot at stake. Everyone home safe.
Safety and Well-being at Work is a Daily Task
Every day, we manage risks in our personal lives to prevent accidents and mishaps. We place knives facing down in the dishwasher and switch to winter tires when the season changes.
The same mindset should apply in the workplace—as shown in the video.
The Administration of Occupational Health and Safety encourages both managers and employees to start a conversation about safety and well-being at work, no matter the nature of the job.
Let’s go over the risks, write them down, and decide together how we’re going to prevent them.
How is a health and safety plan created?
This video simply explains what a health and safety plan is and what is involved in creating one.

More about a health and safety plan
A health and safety plan is intended to promote the safety and well-being of employees in the workplace.
It includes a risk assessment and a health protection and risk preventing plan. The plan should provide a clear overview of workplace risks, including an assessment of the likelihood of risks occurring and the potential severity of its consequences.
Once the risk assessment is complete, preventive actions should be identified to eliminate or reduce the risks to a level where they pose minimal impact on employees. These actions are called preventive measures.
When preventive measures have been selected and prioritized, it’s important to document them, set a timeline for their implementation, and assign responsibility for following through on them. At this stage, you have a health protection and risk prevention plan in place.

Take five - for your safety and others
In addition to the workplace risk assessment, it’s very useful for each individual to assess the daily risks in the work environment at the beginning of the workday, especially before entering new situations or tasks that are done infrequently. This can be particularly important in workplaces where conditions are constantly changing, such as in construction. In fact, this can be seen as a personal risk assessment.
