You can take different types of motorcycle tests, see classification below.
The process of motorcycle training
To be able to start motorcycle study, you must apply for a study permit at the District commissioner´s office.
The next step is to find a driving instructor and a driving school.
Driving instructors hand the driving student a drivers´ education journal which is important to preserve during the course of the programme. The drivers´ education journal covers the progress of the study program, both practical and theoretical. The drivers´ education journal must be presented when examination is attended at Frumherji.
The candidate shall complete the required number of theoretical and practical lessons in consultation with the driving instructor and the driving school. The theoretical classes may take place in distance learning or on-site. Check driving schools for information. The practical lessons are partly done in a closed area and partly in public traffic, under the supervision of a driving instructor.
Theoretical tests are booked at Frumherji but the driving instructor books the practical test.
The theoretical test consists of 30 multiple choice questions. The practical test is divided into an oral test, test exercises in a closed area and a driving test in traffic.
