Motorcycle rights
The age conditions for motorcycle categories are:
AM category - 15 years:
motorcycles with a maximum speed of 45 km/h, for example scooters and scooters
motorcycle or motor tricycle
A1 - 17 years:
two-wheel motorcycles with or without side-car, with a cubic capacity not exceeding 125 cm3, with a maximum power of 11kW and with a maximum power to weight ratio of 0,1 kW/kg
motor tricycle with a maximum power of 15kW
also grants AM rights
A2 category - 19 years:
two-wheel motorcycles with or without side-car, power maximum 35kW, power/weight ratio maximum 0,2 kW/kg
motorcycle which has not been modified since previously having more than double the power
also grants AM and A1 rights
A - 24 years old (except 21 years old if you took A2 19 years old)
two-wheel motorcycle with or without side-car
motor tricycles with a power exceeding 15kW
also grants AM, A1 and A2 rights
Applications may be made to begin learning 3 months before the birthday.

Cost
A driving licence for mopeds, AM examination, is 4,300 ISK.
A driving licence for a heavy motorcycle, A test, is 8,600 ISK.
A driving licence shall be paid by credit card in functional applications or at the administrative department where the application is made.
Application process
The district commissioner shall send a study authorisation to the Primary Schools, at which point the applicant may commence studies. Examinations are ordered from the Primary School.
After the examination, the driver may obtain a provisional driving authorisation from the district commissioner on presentation of confirmation from the examiner.
Attachment data
The application must be accompanied by a passphrase.
If an applicant has to wear glasses or lenses while driving or has other health problems that may affect driving, a medical certificate from a general practitioner must be returned.
