Where can I find information on who inspects ships?

The Icelandic Transport Authority, classification societies and accredited inspection bodies shall inspect ships. The Icelandic Transport Authority is responsible for initial inspections and certain inspections, e.g. inspections of passenger ships. Generally, classification societies inspect larger vessels such as fishing vessels of over 24 metres in length, whereas accredited inspection bodies inspect vessels under 24 metres.
