The Chief Epidemiologist in Iceland does not consider any travel restrictions to and from China to be necessary, but encourages individuals travelling abroad, especially in China where cases of 2019-nCoV have been confirmed to:

  • Practice good personal hygiene, especially thorough hand washing.

  • Avoid close contact with people with common cold symptoms.

  • Avoid direct unprotected contact with live animals and surfaces in contact with animals when visiting live markets.

  • Use a cloth for sneezing if you have a cold and wash your hands regularly.

  • Inform healthcare professionals about their trips if they need to seek health care in Iceland.
