Parking
At Landspítali’s main locations, there are around 2,190 parking spaces available for patients, family members, staff, students, contractors, and other visitors. Unfortunately, parking availability does not always meet demand, especially during peak hours.
To help ensure you arrive on time for your appointment or other services at Landspitali, we recommend when possible arranging, using an alternative to a private car. For example, arranging a ride with a friend or family member, using a car-sharing service, taking a taxi, or travelling by public transport. Finding a parking space can take time, and in some cases parking may only be available outside hospital grounds.
Parking spaces for people with disabilities are free of charge and located near all main entrances. The Parking Fund and the police are authorised to check disability parking permits displayed in the windscreen. If a permit is expired or invalid, a fine may be issued.
Please note that the police and the Parking Fund are authorised to issue fines for parking violations on hospital premises. Vehicles that obstruct access routes or traffic may be towed immediately at the owner’s expense.
