When requesting a service
The individual will receive a questionnaire in the app that must be answered for the request to be created and considered.

You can request an appointment for genetic counseling at Landspítali for yourself or a child in your custody via the Landspítali app.
It's important to explain the purpose of your visit clearly in the request. Incomplete requests will be rejected.
If there is a known genetic mutation: Specify the disease, the gene, and the closest relative with the disease-causing mutation.
If there is a strong family history of a disease: The request will likely be rejected unless the individual themselves has symptoms of the disease.

Answer questions
You need to answer the questionnaire that will appear in the app shortly, so your request can be processed. You'll find the questionnaire under

Once your request and questionnaire are received, they will be reviewed to determine if you will be offered an appointment.
Genetic counseling is not always offered, but all requests are reviewed. You will be contacted regarding the next steps.

You need to answer the questionnaire that will appear in the app shortly, so your request can be processed. You'll find the questionnaire under:

Once your request and the questionnaire have been received, you will get a message confirming this.
The waiting time for the first appointment is usually less than three months.
After an appointment has been booked for you:
You will receive a message through Heilsuvera, and you can see the appointment booking in the Landspítali app.
A questionnaire will be sent to you a few days before your appointment, which you need to fill out before your first interview.
You will receive a notification in the app when a new questionnaire has been sent. All questionnaires appear under:

If a questionnaire has not been answered within three days of being sent, the app will send a notification to remind the user to complete it.
Unanswered questionnaires are available for 90 days, after which they disappear from the app. You can view answered questionnaires at any time.
