The responsible person of a passenger or freight transport permit must attend a management course with the Driving school in Mjodd. The Icelandic Transport Authority can issue a permit to an applicant provided that all conditions are met, for up to one year while the course is attended in order to satisfy the requirements for appropriate professional competence. There is an alternative if the responsible person has either applicable aducation or experience of at least ten years in running/managing a business, documented confirmation supporting that can be turned in with the application and it will then be evaluated if the person has sufficient education/experience to be exempted from the course.
