The town of Grindavík has not formed the pipeline completely to the home, since that part is owned by the homeowner. Who bears the cost of having pipes formed between the base of the building and a well in the street?

If the assessors of NTÍ believe there is reason to believe that pipes have been damaged, they have had pipes formed in the foundation and in the process the pipes that are between a well in the street and the building, even though this part is not insured by NTÍ. This is so that it is possible to identify where the damage lies and inform the owner. However, NTÍ is not having pipes formed unless it is suspected that they are damaged. If an owner wants to make sure that the pipes are in working order, he can have them formed at his own expense.
