Grants and opportunities

The fund supports development and innovation in school activities at the nursery, primary, and secondary school levels. Schools can apply, or others in collaboration with schools.

Grants to facilitate the writing of non-fiction work, reference books, dictionaries and extensive information material in Icelandic in various forms.

The UK-Iceland Explorer Fund provides scholarships for Icelandic graduate students for a full-degree studies in the UK at master or doctoral level.

SEF supports and may also organize shorter or longer continuing education courses for upper secondary teachers.

Grants are awarded to education providers for teaching Icelandic to foreigners with the objective of giving them the opportunity to acquire necessary skills in Icelandic.

The Fund provides grants to companies taking on students in apprenticeships or other upper secondary level studies where training is a defined part of the course.

Project grants for cooperation within the 15 EEA Grants beneficiary countries to strengthen collaboration and development.

Nordplus Nordic Languages supports activities aimed at strengthening the Nordic neighbouring languages and promoting knowledge about Nordic cultures, languages and ways of life.
