Is enteral nutrition subsidized?
Cost that goes beyond defined amounts for monthly dose are paid for. The cost for each individual per month for enteral nutrition is therefore a specified amount per month:
0-5 years old: 9,000 ISK
6-9 years old: 17,900 ISK
10-12 years old: 26,900 ISK
13-17 years old: 35,900 ISK
18 years and older: 44,900 ISK
The amount is based on the age and proportion of energy demand obtained by tube feeding. If enteral nutrition is only part of the energy requirement, the amount is reduced proportionally.
