Can you apply for a grant to purchase hearing aid?
Yes, it is possible to apply for a grant from Iceland Health for the purchase of hearing aids from other sellers than The National Hearing and Speech Institute of Iceland, but the suppliers must have an operating license from the Ministry of Health. In addition to The National Hearing and Speech Institute of Iceland they are the following: Heyrðu, Heyrn, Heyrnartækni, Heyrnarstöðin and Lyfja Heyrn. The supplier sends an electronic application from Gagnagátt.
Insured persons over the age of 18 who have an tonal mean value on the better ear of at least 30 dB are entitled to a grant. The grant can be applied for every 4 years.
