Amounts and exemption limit
Please note that the information on this page pertains to the disability and rehabilitation pension system that was in effect until August 31, 2025. Applicants from September 1, 2025, are assessed according to the new system, while those who had a valid assessment in the old system until at least August 31, 2025, were automatically transferred to the new system.

Disability pensions are income-related, which means that other income has a downward impact.
Full disability pension is:
421.380 ISKper month before the tax with the home allowance,
421.380 ISKper month before tax without home allowance.
Breakdown of amounts
If income from other sources than TR, pension fund, salary and capital income, is below the free-income limit, you will receive:
a basic monthly pension,
income guarantee per month,
age extension, depending on the age of the initial assessment of disability or rehabilitation.
Maintenance allowance is often provided for in the disability and rehabilitation pension. Maintenance allowance is not a fixed amount but depends on the criteria for living. There is a special income limit for the maintenance allowance.
