Report burglaries

To reduce the likelihood of burglary:

• look closely at the whole premises, such as doors and windows, locks and finishes

• think like a burglary native: where would he get in easily?

• consider professional security equipment, such as motion sensors, security cameras and good lighting

Vacation or away from home for a longer period of time

Make the house look like it’s in use, for example, by:

• ask neighbours to keep an eye on it

• use a light timer

• get someone to empty a mailbox.
