The Icelandic Sport Fund
Grants from the Sport Fund are intended for sports and youth organizations across the country to improve facilities for sports activities. They are also available for outreach and educational projects, as well as for conducting research on various aspects of sports activities in the country.
The Sport Fund’s objectives are to promote innovation and development in sports activities for children and youth, enhance the knowledge of coaches and instructors, increase the value of sports in prevention work, and raise the status and respect of sports activities in society.
Projects must align with the objectives of the Sports Act, which defines sports as any form of physical training aimed at improving physical and mental fitness, health, and well-being.
The minimum grant amount for projects is ISK 250,000.
Applications are invited once a year, with the deadline usually at the beginning of October.
