The Icelandic Sport Fund

The Minister appoints a Sports Committee, which also serves as the board of the Fund. The Committee consists of five members.

• The Minister appoints the Chair without nomination.

• One member is appointed following a nomination from the Board of the National Olympic and Sports Association of Iceland (Íþrótta- og Ólympíusamband Íslands).

• One member is appointed following a nomination from the Board of the Icelandic Youth Association (Ungmennafélag Íslands).

• One member is appointed following a nomination from the Board of the Association of Local Authorities in Iceland (Samband íslenskra sveitarfélaga).

• One member is appointed following a nomination from the Department of Sport and Physical Education, School of Education, University of Iceland (íþróttakennaraskor Menntavísindasviðs Háskóla Íslands).

Deputy members are appointed in the same manner. The Committee is appointed for a term of four years.
