Applicants are encouraged to start early, and not wait until the deadline to submit.

Grants from the Sport Fund are intended for sports and youth clubs across the country to improve facilities for sports activities. Grants are also available for outreach and educational projects.

In addition, funding is provided for research on various aspects of sports activities in Iceland.

Who can apply?

Sport and youth clubs and organizations, and those working on promotional and educational projects in the field of sport. Also those doing research in this area.

How to apply

  • Applications for grants from the Sport Fund must be submitted through the Rannís electronic application system.

  • To access the application form, applicants must log into the Rannís system using electronic ID.

  • When preparing the budget, it is important to note that the form refers to the total cost of the project. If grants or contributions from other sources are being applied for, this must be specified in the application.

  • Applicants should carefully review the budget summary before submitting the application.

  • The minimum grant for projects is ISK 250,000.
